One Suspect in Custody following Sunday Shooting

Deandre Paul Jackson, 19 years of age, Address-Lydia St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 9/24/2019 @ 4:46 P.M.

– Principal to Attempted First Degree – Murder
– Armed Robbery
– Armed Robbery with Use of a Firearm

On September 22, 2019, the Morgan City Police Department received a complaint in reference to a shooting in the area of Mallard St. When officers arrived, they learned one victim was shot and transported to an area hospital with a non-life threating gunshot wound.

During the course of the investigation, Detectives discovered the victim was shot during the course of an armed robbery. Investigators developed Deandre P. Jackson as a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant.

On September 24, Jackson was located at a business on U.S. Highway 90 and with the assistance of Patterson Police Department. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarcerated.
